Our English and Creative Writing programmes are designed to nurture creative writers and facilitate the creation of new works in a supportive but critical community. You will be encouraged to explore the power and beauty of language.  Whether your interests are in writing poetry, novels, screenplay or in analysing literature in all its forms you’ll enjoy plunging into the world of words with us.

Explore a range of literary periods and genres in English literature and use this knowledge in the practice of creative writing.  You will be encouraged to inquire open-mindedly about the multiple generations of different concepts and values within the discipline, to shape your own education.

English and Creative Writing with us is to study programmes that are designed to heighten creative and critical awareness of the elements and techniques of effective writing.  You will be the author of your education through your engagement in the programmes and other literary events.

You’ll be given the opportunity to study canonical writers, established texts and recognised literature while being encouraged to use acquired language and literature skills to reflect critically and imaginatively on your learning and thinking across different disciplines. The knowledge and skills you will acquire will benefit you as you seek employment in various areas from advertising, scriptwriting, literature and many more creative industries.

You’ll acquire a range of valuable, intellectual, discursive, and practical skills through deep and prolonged immersion and engagement in the practises, methods and material of the programmes.  This wide breadth of knowledge and skills will come from working collaboratively with peers in a range of disciplines.
