Evan's BA Illustration Experience

What was your favourite thing about Swansea campus?

My favourite thing was how the campus is integrated into the town centre. I liked being a part of the city. It meant that you could absorb the world around you, and this was a great source for creative projects since there was a lot of real-life reference material.

Why did you choose ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø?

I chose ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø because of its proximity to my hometown, and also because of the seaside. I had also been to the university with my college on various trips so it seemed very familiar.

What do you enjoy outside your studies?

I love sewing and embroidery, but don’t do it as much as I should. I also regularly volunteer with the LGBTQ+ Youth Group at Neath YMCA, so am busy every week with that.

What do you hope to do when you graduate?

I hope to continue working on creative projects.to keep myself busy. I would love to work on some personal projects to expand my portfolio. Working in advertising/editorial/marketing would be my ultimate goal, as I have been working towards that since university began.

What was your favourite thing about your course?

My favourite thing about the course was being surrounded by other creatives. It was a constant source of inspiration and it was always beneficial to hear a second opinion on what I was working on. Seeing everyone working on a variety of projects created an exciting atmosphere.

Digital art showing a chicken in a nest surrounded by eggs; the style uses few colours and simplified shapes, perhaps showing the influence of Flat Art.

Would you recommend ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and why?

I would recommend it for its location and lecturing. I think one of the best aspects of it is that the lecturers come to get to know you as opposed to a bigger university with more students.
