The Hwb app is the essential app for all ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø students. Before you start, you will find important information about your Welcome and Orientation events on the app. 

You’ll also be able to access Hwbcasts via the app. Join the Hwb team as we present all things ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø in easy-to-digest episodes. Whether you’re joining us for the first time or even if you’re a returning student, you can listen, watch, or read all the necessary information ahead of your first day.

Welcome Checklist

MyTSD 

You should use throughout the year to update personal data, view your module selections, and view your results. 

Photo Upload 

Make sure you’ve uploaded your photo for your Student ID Card. Log into and click on ‘Documents required prior to enrolment’. We need this information to print off your physical ID card. 

Enrolment 

Shortly before your course starts, you’ll receive an email telling you to log into to enrol onto your programme of study. As part of the process, you’ll be asked to confirm which modules you wish to study in the coming academic year. 

Timetable 

Timetable information will be available once you have enrolled. You can access your timetable via the Hwb app. If you can’t see your timetable 48 hours after you have enrolled, please contact the Hwb.

Dealing with Change

We understand that moving to a new learning environment can be tough. You might feel excited and hopeful, or you might feel stressed and worried about the changes. 

That’s why we’re running sessions across our Welsh campuses to show you the support that’s available.

  • Learn about the support services at the university and meet the staff who are here to help you.
  • Discover the campus and your new learning environment.
  • Hear from students who have experienced similar changes.
  • Make new friends.
  • Explore some essential skills for achieving independence.

When are the events being held?

  • Sept 4 –&²Ô²ú²õ±è;°ä²¹°ù»å¾±´Ú´Ú&²Ô²ú²õ±è;
  • September 13 – Lampeter 
  • September 20 – Swansea (IQ), Carmarthen

You have the option to attend either a morning or afternoon session at any campus hosting an event. 

Sessions run between 10am and 1pm and 1:30pm and 4:30pm on all dates.

The Learning Support team provide comprehensive academic support for disabled students. 

Our team supports students in applying for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA), including access to assessment for Specific Learning Difference (SpLD).

Regardless of DSA status, we are on hand to support you through difficult times.

You can request an interview to discuss your needs at any point during your course.

Parking

Parking is available at some of our campuses free of charge however you will need to register for a virtual permit. You will need to register with your ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø email address. Any permits created with a non-ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø email will be rejected.

Accommodation

Our Carmarthen and Lampeter locations offer on-site student accommodation, with many of these rooms prioritised for first year students like you.

Swansea, Cardiff, London and Birmingham have an offering of purpose-built private accommodation close to our campuses.

Finance

During your enrolment process you’ll need to outline how you’re planning to pay your tuition fees. 

If you have applied for student finance, you will receive your first payment instalment within your first week at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. Your tuition fees will be paid directly to the university. 

Please note that your money won’t be released until you’ve enrolled onto your course. Payments take three to five working days to process once your attendance has been confirmed.  

Direct Payments

If you will be paying your fees directly to us, the best way to do so is online via card payment. This can be made in one payment, or in two or three instalments depending on the cost. 

Bursaries

You may be eligible for university bursaries and scholarships. All bursaries and scholarships are awarded after making a successful application.
