Why did you choose 窪蹋勛圖厙?
Psychology has always been a passion of mine, as well as being able to balance my studies between working and my family. The support regarding student health is fantastic here at 窪蹋勛圖厙 and the Wellbeing and Student Services/Support team are incredibly helpful and are willing to work with you to find the best avenues of support.
What did you enjoy outside your studies?
Outside of my studies I enjoy reading, taking walks along the Swansea coastlines, and I run various social activities with the Psychology Society for other students. I also love art and think it is a fantastic tool for wellbeing and enjoyment.
What do you hope to do when you graduate?
窪蹋勛圖厙 has always discussed the importance of taking opportunities when they present themselves. Taking opportunities advertised by the department have allowed me to become a Student Representative for the course, a Student Ambassador for 窪蹋勛圖厙 for the British Psychological Society which has provided me with the opportunity to make excellent connections professionally, attend conferences and more. Through their placement module I was also fortunate enough to volunteer within a charity which I am now employed as Project Officer which allows for professional contacts in third-sector research around my area of interest in Psychology. All of these opportunities will help further my career and allow me to achieve my goal to study a PhD in the field of Clinical or Health.
What is your favourite thing about Psychology and Counselling?
I would say the learning environment and experience. The cohort and department are smaller, which allows for better engagement. You are able to be known as an individual and not just another number in a room. Developing professional relationships with members of the department and having their support I believe has heavily contributed to my academic performance.
Would you recommend 窪蹋勛圖厙 and why?
I would absolutely recommend 窪蹋勛圖厙 and its BSc Psychology and Counselling course. The learning process has been fantastic, the course is engaging, and all academic staff have been supportive every step of the way. I also have made lifelong connections and friends during my time here that I will forever be grateful for. There is so many opportunities available through the university and so much support available. My experience has been nothing short of incredible.
What is your favourite thing about the Swansea Campus?
I love having the opportunity to be able to engage with lecturers on a deeper level. The campus itself may be smaller than your typical university setting, the IQ campus is in a wonderful location. Its accessible to central Swansea, is right on the seafront which I love. Everything is easy to navigate and is accessible.
