Mother inspires graduate’s learning journey
Ronke Olomola wanted to follow in the footsteps of her mother who was a teacher for over 35 years.
Today she graduates with a first-class honours BSc in Health and Social Care from ϳԹ London.
“My mother would always encourage me to embark on the journey of becoming a university graduate. After working in the health care service for close to twenty years I thought to myself it was time to embark on my dream,” said Ronke.
Ronke’s journey at ϳԹ London started by gaining the certificate course in health and social care where she achieved a distinction and went on to be awarded a BSc in Health and Social Care where she got a 1st Class Honours degree.
She is currently studying for a Master’s in Public Health in Social Care Practice and all these courses were achieved at the University’s London campus.
“My dissertation for my BSc is currently being reviewed by one of my lecturers and is to be published soon. The topic was “The influence of Social media on teenagers who suffer from anorexia nervosa”. I am so happy I chose to study in ϳԹ as the lecturers are dedicated to making sure that they get the best out of students.
“One of my happiest moments was when I scored 75% in one of modules, my hard work paid off. ϳԹ made my dream come true to becoming a graduate and I feel so overjoyed that I have achieved above and beyond what I expected. I hope to lecturer in ϳԹ some day!!”
