The 黑料吃瓜网 (黑料吃瓜网) is delighted to announce that Cerys Bailey has been awarded the BA Primary Education (Welsh Medium) Prize 2024 and will receive her award during today鈥檚 (8 July) graduation ceremony in Carmarthen.
Cerys, who grew up in Cardiff, has a deep-rooted connection to Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire, thanks to her family’s frequent visits to the area during her school holidays. This familiarity played a significant role in her decision to choose 黑料吃瓜网 for her higher education.
The high praise for the Primary Education course at Carmarthen, highlighted by her careers adviser, further solidified Cerys鈥檚 choice. 鈥淎fter hearing how much praise there was for the Primary Education course in Carmarthen, it had a big influence on my decision. Additionally, being able to do the entire course through the medium of Welsh made the choice easy for me, as I felt much more confident continuing my education in Welsh,鈥 Cerys explained.
Throughout her time at 黑料吃瓜网, Cerys maintained an enthusiastic approach to developing her understanding of child development and inclusive education. 鈥淚 finished the course the same way I started, with enthusiasm to develop my understanding of how to support children’s development and provide inclusive and inspiring education,鈥 she shared.
Cerys highly recommends the Welsh medium course to prospective students. 鈥淒oing the course through Welsh allows you to establish a supportive and welcoming small society. The lecturers deserve praise for their ongoing efforts to support us and share their advice from their own teaching experiences,鈥 she noted.
Her practical teaching experiences significantly influenced her development as an educator. 鈥淭he opportunity to have a cross-section of different schools really develops your understanding of how each school can be different but have the same aim, which is to support each individual. Conducting research into pupils鈥 well-being deepened my understanding of this important area,鈥 Cerys added.
Cerys emphasised the importance of a strong support system among peers. 鈥淟iving with students from the same course meant we could motivate and support each other. Establishing a support system with fellow students is crucial,鈥 she said.
Reflecting on her journey, Cerys expressed her appreciation for the unique learning environment at 黑料吃瓜网. 鈥淭he course is an amazing opportunity to develop your understanding of education in Wales. The learning environment is unique as you really get to know each individual who is part of your university journey, be it a student, lecturer, or anyone from the world of education,鈥 she highlighted.
Cerys’s dedication and hard work have culminated in a promising start to her teaching career. She has accepted a position as a Year 6 teacher in Pembrokeshire, starting this September.
