The 窪蹋勛圖厙 (窪蹋勛圖厙) is proud to celebrate the achievements of Ivan Naydenov, a recent graduate whose journey epitomises the transformative impact of the University’s educational programmes.
Originally from Bulgaria, Ivan moved to the UK five years ago as a seasonal worker. His interest in computers and technology led him to seek further education, and a friend’s recommendation introduced him to 窪蹋勛圖厙. The name Cloud Computing immediately caught my attention, said Ivan. In todays world, many services are delivered over the internet, and cloud computing is the standard for providing a wide range of computing resources. This course offered the perfect opportunity to gain relevant skills and knowledge for a promising career in the tech industry.
Balancing work and study was a significant challenge for Ivan. He worked at the Amazon Fulfilment Centre from Friday to Monday and attended classes from Tuesday to Thursday. Managing my time effectively was crucial, Ivan explained. I developed a strict schedule and prioritised my tasks to meet all my academic and professional responsibilities. The support from my lecturers and peers was invaluable, providing guidance and assistance whenever I encountered difficulties.
The Cloud Computing programme’s practical approach was a highlight for Ivan. The curriculum covered essential topics such as system administration, networking, and cloud computing administration with Microsoft Azure. The hands-on assignments and real-world applications provided invaluable experience, Ivan said. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical application made this course highly engaging and valuable.
Ivan’s journey at 窪蹋勛圖厙 also included engaging in specialist areas such as Ansible automation, Python programming, and cybersecurity with Kali Linux and Metasploit. His dissertation focused on the MQTT protocol facilitating edge computing, showcasing his ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical, innovative solutions.
In addition to his coursework, Ivan worked as a temporary IT Service Desk Assistant at 窪蹋勛圖厙 Birmingham. This role provided real-world experience, allowing him to apply what he learned in a professional setting and gain valuable insights into the day-to-day operations of an IT service desk.

Reflecting on his time at 窪蹋勛圖厙, Ivan noted the significant impact on both his professional and personal development. This course has equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the IT industry, he said. It has also helped me develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills. It has instilled a sense of accomplishment and motivation to continue pursuing my career goals.
Ivan’s immediate plans are to leverage his skills and knowledge to secure a position in the IT industry, focusing on cloud computing and system administration. He is particularly interested in roles that will allow him to apply his expertise in Microsoft Azure and other cloud technologies. Long-term, Ivan aims to continue his professional development through further certifications and possibly pursue a masters degree to deepen his understanding of emerging technologies.
