What is your favourite thing about Lampeter campus?
My favourite thing about living on Lampeter Campus was the Old Building which provided a unique sense of personality and history.
Why did you choose ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø?
I chose to study at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø because of its comparatively small size and deeply personal approach to their students. ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø’s personal approach to their students was clear to me during an open day when I had a chance to meet some of the incredibly friendly and supportive academic staff.
What did you enjoy outside your studies?
Whilst living in Lampeter I enjoyed spending time at the Lampeter Campus Gym as well as going for walks in the beautiful Welsh countryside with friends. While studying at home as a distance student I still enjoy spending time at the gym, with friends or with family.
What do you hope to do when you graduate?
I am still unsure is the honest answer, 10 years is a long time after all! I hope to be able to utilise the skills learned during my degree(s) be that in teaching, writing, public speaking, or something else entirely. I look forward to seeing what the future brings! My degrees at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø have primarily helped to give me a good insight into a career in academia. This includes conducting research, organising and presenting at conferences, attending summer schools and publishing articles in academic books and journals.
What is your favourite thing about Ancient History?
?/My favourite thing about my PhD, and my previous degrees, is the opportunity to explore my own areas of interest while practising valuable skills like research, writing and public speaking. Having the opportunity to visit several countries during my studies including Greece, France, Germany and Switzerland was certainly a nice bonus though!

Would you recommend ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and why?
Having also done my BA and MRes degrees at Lampeter Campus I have spent my entire career of soon to be 10 years in higher education at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø! My time at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø has been one of incredible opportunities, from meeting new friends to fascinating academic research and travel to Greece, Italy and more, I have enjoyed every moment! While primarily academically focussed, my degrees have provided a wealth of transferable verbal, literary and organisational skills which I believe would be suitable to a wide range of careers. The opportunity to receive training in what was then the PASS (Peer Assisted Learning Study Sessions) scheme also provided skills for facilitating group discussions and knowledge.
