Bursaries

Introduction

We have a variety of bursaries which are granted to students based on need and come in the form of fee waivers. 

Bursaries

Access Bursaries

  • Care Leavers Bursary (up to £1,000)
    This bursary is for students under 25 from a care-experienced background to assist with initial costs of resources and equipment.

  • Disability Bursary (up to £700)
    This bursary is to assist all students who have or are being assessed as having a disability with any costs directly associated with their disability to facilitate their studies. 

  • Estranged Students Bursary (up to £1,000)
    This bursary is for students under 25 who are estranged from their parents. 

  • Ethnicity Equality Bursary (up to £500)
    This bursary is for Level 5 or 6 BAME or traveller home students wishing to undertake research or performance activity. 

  • Parents and Carers Bursary (up to £1,000)
    This bursary is for students who are carers and/or parents with childcare costs. 

  • Reaching Wider Bursary (up to £100)
    This bursary is for students from WIMD 40 Widening Participation areas.

  • Transgender and Non Binary Student Wellbeing Bursary (up to £250)
    This bursary is to provide assistance with wellbeing support.

  • University of Sanctuary Bursary 
    This bursary is to provide support for students with UK asylum-seeking or refugee status.

  • Welsh Medium / Bilingual Award Bursary (up to £900)
    This bursary is for students undertaking modules through the medium of Welsh.

Financial Support Bursaries

  • Career Development Bursary (up to £1,000)
    This bursary is to assist with career development and work experience costs. 

  • Constituent College Progression Award 

  • Course Costs Bursary (up to £250)
    This bursary is to assist with course-related costs. 

  • Digital Connectivity Bursary (up to £300)
    This bursary is for assistance with a device or internet costs.

     

  • Graduation Costs Bursary (up to £100)
    This bursary is to support graduates in financial difficulty with the associated costs of attending their graduation ceremony.

  • Placement Bursary (up to £250)
    This bursary is to assist with costs associated with compulsory placement activity. 

  • Student Financial Support Fund

  • Study Abroad Bursary (up to £250)
    This bursary is to assist any full-time UK undergraduate students taking part in a semester abroad at one of our partner universities.

  • Women in STEM Bursary (up to £500)
    This bursary is for students who self-identifies as a women and who is enrolled on a full-time undergraduate programme in Engineering, Computing, Construction on Environmental Conservation.

There are also a range of Scholarships available.

We offer a range of scholarships, which celebrate the determination, commitment and achievement of our students. Many of our scholarships are awarded automatically. These are some however, where you will need to be involved in an application or nomination process.
