Students from the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) geared up to compete in the highly anticipated Formula Student Racing Finals on Tuesday 16th July, that took place at the iconic Williams F1 Headquarters.

We’ve loved hosting The Girls on Track programme, a joint initiative between the FIA and Motorsport UK, welcoming pupils from schools across the city to our state-of-the-art facilities at our IQ Building in Swansea, which is home to our Motorsport, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering programmes.

The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) welcomed 11 teams of sixth-form students from seven schools across South West Wales for a special Engineering Education Scheme Wales (EESW) event.

Harvey Levell, a student at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø), never planned to attend university after leaving sixth form. With ambitions set on an apprenticeship, it was a teacher’s recommendation that encouraged him to attend a ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø open day. That visit proved to be a transformative experience, guiding him towards a future in motorsport engineering that he hadn’t previously considered.

A passion for cars and motorsport has driven Joao Mirra Ferreira from Portugal to the UK, where he is currently studying for a BEng in Automotive Engineering at the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø). After completing secondary education in Portugal and taking time to consider his future, Joao said he was attracted to the University because of its practical, hands-on approach and strong industry connections. Today, he is preparing for a career in the competitive automotive and motorsport industries.

Third year BEng Mechanical Engineering Degree Apprentice Heather Came’s educational journey reflects the power of perseverance, adaptability, and the value of combining real-world experience with academic studies.

Ashley Macdonald, a recent graduate of the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø (ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø) with a BA in Early Years Education and Care, is celebrating his remarkable achievement and sharing his inspiring journey into education.
