Developing and Supporting Physical Development in Early Childhood (Short Course) (Lifelong Learning)
This course is part of SKIP Cymru, designed for educators and professionals to improve physical development in children through research-based methods. It supports Health and Wellbeing in Curriculum for Wales. Supporting physical development supports wider child development including school readiness and academic outcomes, language and communication skills and resilience.
It addresses key national initiatives like Daily Active, Healthy Weight Healthy Wales and focuses on enhancing motor skills and physical literacy.
Participants will blend online theory with practical, face-to-face sessions.

This qualification is aimed at teachers and professionals who:

- Work with groups of children to reflect on implementation.
Plan or manage programmes of physical development (whole class, or community group).

Reflective report (2000 words)
- Assessment through a reflective report enables you to gain a deep insight into how this process impacts on your practice and children’s outcomes
Practical delivery (20 mins)
- Deliver a practical task to peers during face-to-face training days.
- Submit a plan and video evidence of delivering a physical development session to a group of children along with a brief self-evaluation.
