Our Pathway to Success: Empowering Learners at ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø events, are designed specifically for applicants transitioning to university. We understand that moving to a new learning environment can be both exciting and challenging, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
Transitions bring a mix of emotions - excitement, hope, stress, and worry. These feelings are completely normal.
Our events aim to help you manage these emotions, turning challenges into opportunities and empowering you to become the independent, successful learner we know you can be.
Who should attend?
This event is primarily aimed at:
- ASC applicants: Individuals with Autistic Spectrum Condition.
- Care Leavers: applicants who have been in foster care or the care system and are transitioning to independent living and education.
- Mature Applicants Returning to Education: Individuals who are returning to education, often balancing studies with other responsibilities like work or family life.
- First-Generation University Applicants: Those who are the first in their families to attend university.
What to expect at the event
At this event, you will:
- Learn about the support services at the university and meet some of the staff who will be here to help you.
- Discover the campus and the learning environment.
- Hear from students who have experienced similar changes. They once felt unsure and anxious but have now become successful, independent learners.
- Meet other applicants and have the opportunity to start building your peer network.
- Explore essential skills for achieving independence.
By the end of these events, you should feel more confident and better prepared for transitioning to university life.
Event schedule
You have the option to attend either a morning or afternoon session.
Sessions on all campuses run between 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM and 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM.
Please note that the booking form will close a week prior to the event.
