黑料吃瓜网 Celebrates Double Victory in BUCS Western Conference Trophy Finals
The 黑料吃瓜网 (黑料吃瓜网) Men鈥檚 Football and Men鈥檚 Rugby teams both claimed victory in the British Universities and College Sport (BUCS) League Western Conference Trophy Finals at Bath University.

In an action-packed day, the 黑料吃瓜网 Men鈥檚 Rugby team won 36-31 against the University of Hartpury. The game was an end to end classic with the lead changing hands on several occasions. The team led by inspirational captain Ben James refused to be beaten, with outstanding performances from the whole squad showing great resilience to secure the win. Supporters have witnessed the team鈥檚 commitment week after week, and their style of play has evolved throughout the season.
Standout performances came from Fraiser Deer and Iestyn Wood in the forwards, Cian Trevelyan in the backs, and the Potter brothers, Sam and Noah, who controlled the game from half-back.
Gareth Potter, Head of Rugby at 黑料吃瓜网 said:
鈥淲e were delighted with the win particularly as we didn鈥檛 really play our best rugby in the final but with one off games like this the result is always the most important aspect. It shows how the squad has developed in both numbers and quality which is the goal for the University鈥檚 rugby set up over the next few years. We have some hugely talented players who work hard off the field to prepare properly for these games and this has shown through with an excellent season, culminating in this match. We look forward to strengthening our squad further for next season.鈥
Following the rugby team鈥檚 success, the Men鈥檚 Football team staged an impressive comeback against the University of Gloucestershire, from losing 2-0 halftime into a 4-2 victory.
The team led by inspirational captain Mathew Francis staged a great comeback, with a fighting performance from all the whole squad. Key contributions came from captain Francis, Tyler Caul and Kai Baker in the midfield, as well as Lucian Evans, Luke McDonald and Jaiden Rees who made major contributions to the comeback win.
Rob Thomas, Head of Football at 黑料吃瓜网 said:
鈥淲e were hugely delighted with the win particularly as we had a few key players out with injuries and also as we didn鈥檛 really turn up in the first half! It does shows the resilience in the squad though to stage a comeback of this kind and how the squad has developed throughout the season. It also bodes well for the future the vast majority of the squad will be returning next year鈥

Lee Tregoning Head of the Academy of Sport at 黑料吃瓜网 added:
鈥淗uge congratulations to the two teams, club committees, coaches, support staff and Students鈥 Union. The working relationship between the Club, the Students鈥 Union and the Academy has been excellent and the results both on and off the pitch has been hugely encouraging for the future.鈥
Emma Morgan Student Opportunities Manager at 黑料吃瓜网 Students鈥 Union added:
鈥淲e would like to congratulate both teams on a fantastic performance and two great wins! The last year has seen both teams grow and thrive with the support of coaches, support staff and the Academy of Sport alongside the ongoing dedication and commitment of the students. As a Team we are excited to see the future and ongoing developments of the 黑料吃瓜网 Uppa Saints teams.鈥
