Background
During a 14-year career as a secondary school teacher, Rachel undertook many roles such as Head of Department (Religious Education) and Senior Leader for Assessment and Literacy. During that time, Rachel also enjoyed an active role as a mentor for PGCE students and as an external marker for GCSE examinations.
Currently, as a Senior Lecturer, Rachel is involved in the delivery of modules to PGCE Primary and Secondary students as well as leading on a module for BA(Ed) students in their second year. She led on a number of aspects of the ITE programmes’ partnership with schools for six years before taking up her present role within quality and professional standards. Rachel is also pleased to act as an ITE Peer Inspector for Estyn.
Rachel is currently studying on the Master’s in education (MA Ed) course.

Enterprise, Commercial and Consultancy Activities
- Have worked as a consultant for Welsh Government on developments relating to Religious Education, especially in identifying areas requiring additional resources and translation of current resources from English to Welsh.
- Have worked as a consultant for the BBC on their E-Clips project and updating of their Bitesize Religious Studies website.
- Have more recently worked as an educational consultant for the BBC and Grain Media on the creation of video resources for the RE and Humanities classroom
